Squirrel Corn
Dicentra canadensis

Squirrel Corn is a member of the Poppy family; it is in the same genus as the closely related Dutchman's Breeches. A spring wildflower whose multiple flowers dangle from a single stalk that rises from highly divided feathery foliage. The common name derives from corn-like structures on the roots. Found in moist woodlands.
