Green Frog
Rana clamitans

"While walking along the side of a pond or creek you may be startled by the Green Frog’s “peep and leap.” Their call is described as the twang of a banjo string.

"They generally grow to about 4 inches. Green Frogs colors are highly variable but look for the characteristic bright green moustache.

"Green Frogs occur throughout most of the eastern United States, almost anywhere there is water, though this fellow was several hundred feet from the nearest creek enjoying the damp forest floor." - Richard Milton
