Eastern Screech Owl Otus asio Eastern Screech Owl occurs from the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, east. Favors open woods, edge areas, and is often found in suburban settings. Prey includes small mammals and birds, occasionally even other Screech Owls. There is a Western Screech Owl which occurs in much of the rest of the U.S., and a Whiskered Screech Owl which is found primarily in Mexico but also occurs in southern Arizona. |
