Purple Prairie Clover can be found in prairies around the tallgrass region. The tiny flowers are arranged in spikes. Overall, this perennial can be up to three feet tall. It is a member of the Bean Family. This individual was photographed in late July at Chiwaukee Prairie in southeastern Wisconsin.
