      Flora: Harebell

Harebell
Campanula rotundifolia

Harebell photo

Harebells (also known as Mountain Harebell) are nodding purple wildflowers found in much of the mountainous west, as well as in parts of Eurasia. They sometimes occur in large colonies. The flowers are less than an inch long and reside atop long stalks, often with more than one flower on a stalk. Any wind at all sets them waving, which can make photographing them a challenge. This individual was photographed in New Mexico.
