Flora: Mountain Death Camas Mountain Death Camas Anticlea elegans
Mountain Death Camas is a summer wildflower found at many different elevations in the mountains of the western U.S. The flowers are less than an inch across and occur on racemes (see second image, below). This plant is poisonous and it has been responsible for many deaths, particularly of livestock. Generally considered to be a member of the Lily family. This plant was photographed in New Mexico. Also known as Wand Lily.
