Wild Bergamot photo

Wild Bergamot is a perennial. Its rounded cluster of tubular purple flowers can be seen is old fields, prairies, thickets, and woodland edges, from mid to late summer. Related species are cultivated in gardens. Wild Bergamot is a member of the Mint Family. The individual pictured above was photographed in late July at Chiwaukee Prairie in southeastern Wisconsin.
