Eco-USA: Cohabitants
Cohabitants
Millions of other species share this planet with us, though we don't always share with them. I call them cohabitants, and along with some brief text descriptions offer a few photos that I've managed to take over the years. There's probably a bias towards plants, because they can't and don't run away at my approach; finding them in bloom is "just" a matter of being in the right place at the right time. After that I can take a hundred photos and hope that one turns out. Most mobile species are considerably trickier to capture on film. The goal here isn't to illustrate every species in the country - that would far surpass my ability or the available resources of this website - but I'm happy to hear from folks who are willing to share photos and stories of the cohabitants they've encountered.

One more thing - many of the photos in this section of the site are rather small. They date from a time when the site had to run be on a very tight memory budget. That restriction is long gone, and I hope to begin moving to larger images in the near future.
